“demolition/construction” is a simple project that proposes:
To construct a dialogue by recognizing demolition in itself. Demolition, like the seed that demolishes itself in germinating. When we speak of contemporary expressions we are conscious of the term’s broadness; our only framework is the responsibility of the author and what he/she presents, that being a concrete proposal, that generally touches themes related to identity, society and the interpretation of this same terminology, being from diverse disciplines and concepts that are involved in our daily reality. We invite authors as well as the public to tell us something about their concepts of demolition and construction. At the same time, we share what we have been able to learn as a group in dialogue: and in this way, assuming our responsibility to create a position and a space for these manifestations. All “creative” people in contemporary society are subject to their origin and a universal community composed of authors, critics, cultural directors or scientists and addressees/spectators.
As an open event it is also subject to public opinion. The relation between all of these elements creates an expectation and gears a presentation toward the objective of a show. In the case of D/C we don’t approach this objective as an event in a cultural agenda, but as an attempt to get closer to those who live behind the work and who search to construct a position of communication, of interaction, and of retro alimentation with the compromise to try to understand the context from which his/her work arose and into what it germinates.
